How to run a Live Stream with Cadjin Server using OBS ?


Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio is a free, open-source program that lets you record videos and livestream. OBS Studio is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Before starting the Cadjin live stream, download and install the OBS Studio in your computer. Then follow the given steps to run a Live Stream with Cadjin Server using OBS.

Step-1: Log-in to the Cadjin CMS.

Step-2: In the left side menu, go to the Live Studio section. Here you can see previously created LIVE Streams.
Note: If there is no LIVE Streams channel created before, then you need to create one. See the previous help article on 'How to create a LIVE Stream ?'

Step-3: Select the Live Stream channel which you want to use, then go to View Details which is at the right side of the list (Three Dots).
Here you can see all the required informations about the live stream. (Example: Primary Server, Stream Key, HLS etc.)

Step-4: Now open OBS Studio application. You need to connect OBS Studio with the Cadjin Live Stream which you have selected earlier.

Step-5: Following steps are important to connect OBS Studio with the Cadjin Live Stream :


Step-5(a): Go to the Settings which is in the Controls section of the OBS Application. (Usually it is at Lower right corner)
Step-5(b): Then in the Settings, go to the Stream menu. Here you need to provide the Server link and Stream Key. Make sure that the Service section dropdown is selected as Custom.
Step-5(c): Go to the selected Cadjin Live Stream and copy the Primary Server (RTMP) url and paste it at the Server of the OBS Studio. Similarly, go to the selected Cadjin Live Stream, copy the Stream Key and paste it at the Stream Key section of the OBS Studio. Then click on Apply and Ok.
Now, your Cadjin Stream channel is connected to the OBS Studio.


Step-6: Once the OBS Studio is successfully connect with the Cajin Stream, then provide the video input source to the OBS Studio. For this, go to the Sources section of the OBS Studio and click the '+' icon. Here you can select input video source from different options.
In this help article, the input video source is given from the Video Capture Device which is a webcam attached to the computer.
Step-7: Now you are ready to stream live with the OBS Studio. Go to the Cadjin live stream. Then click the Start live Stream button to initialize the Cadjin LIVE server.
Once the Cadjin Stream starts, you can see the camera feed from OBS is showing in Cadjin stream video preview.

Note that, there will be a few seconds delay in the Cadjin Live Stream as compared to the OBS Video Source. It is a normal occurrence, often referred to as "Latency" which happens because it takes time to process and transmit video data from the source to viewers.
