Cadjin advances Canada's Premier News Network into Mobile and TV Apps

INTRODUCTION

Established in 2001, this highly popular news network quickly gained widespread acceptance nationwide. The network broadcasts live news from a wide range of sectors like business, entertainment, politics, and cryptocurrency, to name a few. Its rapid success prompted the network to expand its offerings to a diverse audience and solidify its presence across different geographic communities. Today.


However, the News Network want to shift its broadcastings from traditional cable TV network to new edge's digital media where they can reach to a diversify audience and deliver North America's local issues across the global audiences.

THE CHALLENGE

  • With an aim to expand reach, viewership, and subsequent ad revenue, the news network wanted to penetrate into the internet connected landscape. This required the need of a technosmart video streaming solution like Cadjin to customize and launch the TV apps across Android TV, Firestick TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV and LG TV.
  • The client wants not only to launch its TV Apps, but also re-design and bring out its Mobile Apps (for Android and Apple) simultaneously.
  • The client also wish to Live Stream their evening prime-time show on a daily basis which has already a large audience base.

THE SOLUTION

  • In the first stage of customizations, app aesthetics and improved viewer experience , language selection options to choose between regional languages were focused upon. For enhanced viewer experience, "Continue Watching", "My Favorites", "Watch History" (Based on device activity), "Platform Switching", & "Theme Changing" options were built-in in the most compelling manner.
  • In the home screen (across all apps), we incorporated Live Linear TV for 24*7 broadcasts followed by segmented categories that lists the latest videos, TV shows, and Platform Originals/ Exclusives, from the APIs shared with us.
  • In the second stage of integrations, the “Video autoplay” option was introduced wherein videos play automatically upon scrolling in iPad alongside the landscape orientation. And, monetization is done through pre-roll ads (along with subscription model revenue), generating great revenue via TV apps for the news network.

THE IMPACT

With the launch of TV apps, the client has effectively penetrated the TV app and Mobile app market (News segment with over 440 million viewers), adding another feather to its cap. This collaboration helped ferry their 24/7 news services to over millions of users weekly.

Ever since this alliance with Cadjin, the news network has impressively increased its viewership and ad revenue 8X more compared to its previous online presence with a web channel.
